Molecular Bonding Made Easy With High Quality Plastic Welding Equipment

To create plastic structures by joining plastics together it is best to opt for molecular bonding, as this allows for a strong and reliable join which will not let you down. Molecular bonding can be easily done with a range of hot air tools and machines, all of which are simple and straightforward to use no matter what the application.

There are quite few different ways in which plastics can be joined together to create new structures, with one being particularly effective as well as easy to do. In chemical bonding, adhesives and glues are used, and in mechanical joins, screws and snap fits are used; these will work and be effective, but they are not the best solution. Instead, it is best to opt for what is known as molecular bonding. Molecular bonding, or plastic welding as it is also known, creates a join which is stronger and more reliable, and it will not deteriorate in quality over time. In addition, with high quality welding equipment the job can be simple and straightforward too.

Plastic welding can be used for an enormous range of applications and is done in a variety of different industries. A few examples of where you will find plastic welding used to join plastics together include for bowls, cups, electrical items, food packing, toys, shower curtains, tarpaulin, banners, vinyl flooring, surgical aides, testing equipment, a range of automotive parts and even for military applications. To create these parts through joining thermoplastics together, plastic welding creates a molecular bond between the two structures through the use of pressing, heating and cooling stages.

For the heating stage of molecular bonding you will need the right plastic welding equipment for the application. These tools use hot air to allow for intermolecular diffusion, or melt mixing, and then this will solidify during the cooling stages. The equipment you will require will depend on what the application is, as well as the thickness of the plastic. Plastic welding with thermoplastics within the thickness range of 3-8 mm can be achieved with a hand held tool such as a hot air gun, whilst thicker plastics will require an extrusion gun. There are then specialist machines for certain applications, including a PVC banner welding machine, vinyl floor laying machine or roof membrane laying machine. When you have high quality tools and machinery it ensures that you will be able to create a strong, reliable join which will not let you down.

Chemical bonding and mechanical joins can be a solution, but with plastic welding you will get a structurally solid, long lasting join irrespective of the application it is used for. This could be creating tarpaulin, a shower curtain, electrical items, laying vinyl floor or creating a PVC banner. The tools and machinery that you use for molecular bonding will need to be of the highest standard, as this will ensure that the task at hand is straightforward and also that the tools will not let you down and allow for precise, accurate results every time.
